Middle: Bishop Honesto Ongtioco celebrated the Mass of ordination and gave the homily. 

The Most Reverend Honesto Ongtioco, DD, Bishop of Cubao, ordained 11 Jesuit Scholastics from Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Myanmar, Vietnam and the Philippines to the order of the diaconate on October 24th at the Church of the Gesu, Ateneo de Manila University, in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines. The newly ordained deacons are:

  1. Benjamin Thein Tun, SJ (Myanmar)
  2. Khaw Gei Khui Shing, SJ (Myanmar)
  3. John Thomas Kyaw Thu Win, SJ (Myanmar)
  4. Francis Xavier Hoang Trong An, SJ (Vietnam)
  5. John Pham Duy Anh, SJ (Vietnam)
  6. Michael Tran Gia Bao, SJ (Vietnam)
  7. Nikki James Rillon Lee, SJ (Philippines)
  8. Mamert Bancale Manus, SJ (Philippines)
  9. Joseph Park Minwoong, SJ (South Korea)
  10. Cesare Sposetti, SJ (Italy)
  11. Evodius Sapto Jati Nugroho, SJ (Indonesia)

Among the 11 ordinands, 3 were Jesuits of the Vietnam Province: Rev. Francis Xavier Hoang Trong An, SJ, Rev. Michael Tran Gia Bao, SJ, and Rev. John Pham Duy Anh, SJ. These newly ordained deacons are currently studying theology at Loyola School of Theology and living in the Arrupe International Residence.
