During two days, from April 24 to 25, local superiors and chairpersons of the apostolate committees of the Vietnam Jesuit Province from across the country joined the annual meeting held in Thu Duc, Hochiminh city, Vietnam. Father Provincial Vincent Pham Van Mam, SJ, was also present during the meeting.
On the first day of the meeting, participants reflected on both lights and shadows that have happened in their communities and missions. They were also invited to share about their consolations and desolations with one another.
The second day of the meeting started with the presentation of Fr. Francis Xavier Nguyen Hai Tinh, SJ, on the Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs) of the Society of Jesus that were released by Father General Aturo Sosa, SJ in his 19 February letter to the whole Society. During his talk, Fr. Tinh helped participants to prayerfully reflect on the UAPs and how to integrate them into the 10-year Strategic Apostolic Plan 2012-2030 of the Province.
After the presentation of Fr Tinh, Fr. Peter Truong Van Phuc, SJ, coordinator of the Evaluation Team of the 10-year Strategic Apostolic Plan, briefly talked about the program of action and requested feedbacks and comments from the participants.
Before ending the meeting, Fr. Provincial informed the superiors and chairpersons of the Province’s life and missions as well as the coming activities of the Province.
The annual meeting closed with a Thanksgiving Mass through which all participants were deeply united in Jesus Christ and in the friendship in the Lord for the greater glory of God.
