Among the newly-ordained deacons, there are two Jesuits of the Jesuit Conference of Asia Pacific:
Peter Lê Hoàng Nam, SJ, 33, was born in Khánh Hoà Province. He graduated from the University of Law of Ho Chi Minh. He joined the candidacy House of the Society of Jesus in 2004 and was admitted to the Sacred Heart Novitiate in 2008. After three years of philosophy at the Saint Joseph Jesuit Scholasticate (Saigon, Vietnam), he was sent to work at the Vatican Radio for regency in two years before starting his theology study at the Pontifical Gregorian University, living in the Collegio Internazionale del Gesù – Rome.
Charles Nopparat Ruankool, SJ, 30 years old, is from Chiang Rai Province, the north of Thailand. After finishing high school, he became a pre-novice for one year, then he was admitted to the Maria della Strada Novitiate, in Taunggyi, Myanmar, in 2007. After four years of philosophy studies at the Driyarkara School of Philosophy in Jakarta, Indonesia, he was sent to do regency with the Jesuit Prison Ministry in Thailand for two years. Then, he continues studying theology at the Pontifical University of Gregorian (PUG) and lives at the Collegio Internazionale del Gesù, Rome.
After their ordination Mass on Tuesday, all of them were received by Pope Francis before his Wednesday General Audience in Rome.
