The Archbishop of Hanoi elevates Ngoc Mach to Parish Status

Most Rev. Joseph Vu Van Thien, Archbishop of Hanoi, elevated Ngoc Mach sub-parish to the status of a Parish on Sunday 20 December 2020 and at the same time, appointed Fr. Peter Nguyen Van Huu, SJ, to be the first parish priest of the newly elevated parish.
Fr. Peter Nguyen Van Huu, SJ, received the Decree from the Archbishop.

Ngoc Mach parish is located in Xuan Phuong Ward, Nam Tu Liem District of Hanoi Capital with a total population of 350 Catholics, served by the Jesuits. Before its elevation, Ngoc Mach was a dependent sub-parish of Co Nhue parish.

In 2008, the sub-parish was entrusted to the care of the Jesuits. Besides their pastoral works at Ngoc Mach parish, the Jesuits engage in other ministries, such as spiritual direction at St Joseph Major Seminary of Hanoi Archdiocese, college student and youth ministry, and evangelization.
