Two Vietnamese Jesuit priests ordained in Hungary

On Saturday 2 July 2022, two Vietnamese Jesuits: Rev. Joseph Pham Dinh Ngoc, SJ and Rev. Joseph Tran Van Ngu, SJ were ordained to the priesthood by Cardinal Erdő Péter, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Esztergom-Budapest in Hungary at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church of the Society of Jesus.

Joseph Tran Van Ngu, SJ, 34, was born in Nam Dinh Province. He is the eighth child in a family of 10 children. He lived in the Jesuit candidacy house from 2006 to 2010, while studying Information Technology at the University of Natural Sciences in Ho Chi Minh city. After 2-year novitiate formation, he took his First Vows in 2012. From 2012 to 2015, he studied philosophy at St Joseph Jesuit Scholasticate. He was sent to Hungary for 3-years Regency in 2015. 

Joseph Pham Dinh Ngoc, SJ, 35, was born in the Mekong delta in 1986. After graduating from university, he was admitted to the Sacred Heart Novitiate in Thu Duc in 2011. After taking first vows, he studied philosophy at St Joseph Jesuit Scholasticate. In 2016 he was sent to Hungary for his 2-year regency.
