Their daily main sources of income is laboring along streets such as selling tickets, collecting and selling scraps, selling vegetables or street foods…
The Jesuits are celebrating the Ignatian Year, commemorating the 500th anniversary of Saint Ignatius’ conversion, from a knight of the king and court of Spain to a knight of Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven. I was asked by the Spirituality Department of the Province to share the theme: Ignatius, a spiritually wise leader.
Three Vietnamese Jesuits were among 17 Jesuits (from Myanmar, Thailand, Kenya, Tanzania, the Philippines, Korea, Timor-Leste, and Uganda) ordained deacons by Most Rev. Honesco Flores Ongtioco, DD, Bishop of Cubao on October 16, 2021 in the Church of Gesù, Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines.
Although the situation in Sai Gon is getting better, college and university students are still living with social distancing and joining virtual classrooms. Despite that physical separation, Catholic students from different universities in Thu Duc virtually gathered together to celebrate Mass to pray for their new academic year in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic on the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, October 10, 2021.

OUr implementation of the uaps
Universal Apostolic Preferences (UAPs) are the fruit of a process of discernment lasting almost two years. All Jesuits were invited to take part and in addition our mission partners. It concluded with a confirmation from Pope Francis in a special meeting with Fr General Arturo Sosa. The Preferences give a horizon, a point of reference to the whole Society of Jesus. They captured our imaginations and awaken our desires. They unite us in our mission. The new Preferences are four areas vital for our world today. The Society of Jesus will pay special attention to them in the next ten years. We invite you to learn more and take action with us! We want to make a Gospel difference.
